Icloud/Outlook Syncing Issues

I just synced outlook with icloud for the first time and now my "desktop" outlook has been converted to an icloud version. It also shows old appointments, appts. multiple times and everything is very slow (not responding) to respond.
Is there a way for me to undo what I did and get it back to the desktop version I was using before please? Thank you
 
If you sign out of iCloud and choose the option to save a copy of the iCloud calendar and contacts, it will put everything into a folder or pst - then you can drag them from the backup folders to the default folder.

Have you rebooted at least once? If not, try rebooting and see if it behaves better.
