Here's what I thought I'd do, just to see if I could create a little grief. I removed the Gmail address (Folder) from within Account Settings in Outlook 2013. The reason I did this, I thought I'd try putting "inbox" in the Root Folder Path and that made Sync Issues (this computer only).
I therefore galloped again into the Account Settings and removed that email address. When I created it anew, bingo! The Sync Issues (this computer only) is there again. Is this a normal thing that I hadn't noticed before or is there something I can or should do to remove it or should I stop while I'm ahead. Please advise.

Every account has a sync issues folders (well, maybe not POP) - it contains things that outlook is having problems syncing up to the server. It's normal - and because you have an imap account, it has the 'this computer only' tag, because it doesn't sync up. (It doesn't sync up to Exchange either, but the folder isn't tagged as 'this computer only')

I've got several other imap accounts and they don't have it. Why is that? Plus, in order to see if I could create more problems, I deleted that particular part of the Folder and all still seems to be working ok. Diane, what have I gone and done? Please advise. Thanks! :)

They should all have it - are you looking in the Folder list (Ctrl+6) or the Mail module? They aren't supposed to show on the mail module.

If its showing in the mail pane, did you import a data file? That will cause it to show with the mail folders and it may sync up to the server as a regular mail folder.

Ok, I'm looking at it in Mail Module. When I look in the Folder list, I do so see the Sync Issues and as you would know, only the Gmail has (this computer) to the right of Sync Issues. I wonder why in Mail Module, that was only showing in one of the Gmail addresses and not the other? And the one where I deleted the Sync Issues (this Computer) is still there in the Folder List. Apparently, when I deleted it, it was only being deleted from the Mail Module so I couldn't see it but as said, it's still there.
Two things I didn't realize before tonight (amongst everything else I'm not clued in to) was what the Ctrl+6 did & of course, that all email addresses have this Sync Issue folder. Now something close to what Paul Harvey used to say, "Now I know the rest of the story." I'll look for your reply as to why Sync Issues (this Computer) was only showing in one of the Gmail addresses and why after I deleted it, it was actually still there. Thanks so much Diane for your expertise.

When the folder shows in the Mail list as i its another mail folder, its's usually due to importing an IMAP account into an Outlook.com or Exchange mailbox - it gets imported as a normal folder, not a special folder. You typically wouldn't import to an imap account, since everything is on the server, unless you are moving servers - then an export/import would include the folder.

Other than that, I have no idea why it showed up - its just outlok being outlook. :)

Good! Thank you again for your explanation Diane. Stay close to a computer near you for cries of help from the mentally crippled! :)

lol. You're not that bad. :)

I've seen it all, heard it all... so much that I no longer roll my eyes when people tell me what they did, no matter how crazy it is.

I'm not surprised but thank you for those comforting words. I'll not have to hide under the bed tonight in shame but shall sleep a bit better knowing that. :)
